Overview
Sporocarps tufted, 2-8 mm total height. Sporothecae cylindrical, dark brown to nearly black, semi-erect or drooping. Stalk black, relatively long, 33-50% of the total height. Hypothallus well developed, confluent, shining, dark red or silvery. Columella slender, flexuous, reaching to the sporotheca apex where it may be expanded. Capillitium forming a large-meshed net towards the centre, with numerous hyaline free ends, appearing hoary after spore dispersal. Spore-mass black. Spores often agglutinated, dark brown, paler on one side, closely warted, 7.5-9.5 µm diam. Plasmodium white.
